"Korean coffee houses abound in certain districts of Jeonju. They are often in main shopping or entertainment streets. But some of the most interesting ones are hidden back in the neighborhood streets.

This one is called Cafe Hyun Chae. You will find this delightful little coffee house in the Junghwasang district of Jeonju, which is southeast of the downtown area. The well groomed patio makes an inviting entrance as you step off the narrow back street where you've been dodging cars and bicycles that share all neighborhood streets.

Inside, the seating area is roomy and well light but comfortable. Sit back in one of the booths and unwind to the selections of Korean and European jazz sounds that are always on. The volume is just right for reading or conversation with friends.

Since it is off the main street there are few outside noises to disturb the peaceful atmosphere. A great place for a quiet rendezvous or just a place to unwind and slow down a bit. The service is friendly. Wireless internet is available. Oh, yes, there is a quality selection of coffee, tea, and even some wine."
