After 17 years, it was discovered that a girl had a blood type impossible for her parents to produce. After a lengthy battle in the courts for the hospital (in Gyeonggido)to open their records, it was discovered that two girls had been born at the same time in the same hospital and had had their charts switched in the newborn unit. Apparently they looked similar enough that everyone was fooled. Till now. A Seoul court ruled that each family will receive a compensation of about 70 million won. ($US61K) The topper is that the girls have been summarily switched to their "real" families! One cannot begin to imagine the upheaval in these girls' lives.
